Making your sell sheet the Apple way

Here’s a link to a fantastic sell sheet breakdown by the folks at Flowtown (they’re good)

The thing to focus on is format, alignment, clarity, salesmanship, and overall brand adherence.

If you’re just starting out and you don’t have a brand that’s ok, everything else still applies to the fullest. Use those simple terms and simple checkboxes to see that those parts of the design are adhered to and addresses and you’re guaranteed to have a functional item to begin with.

Additionally, if you’re a do it yourselfer, download G.I.M.P. for photo editing, and Inkscape for vector/copy (lines and words) to make your pitch look professional (if you’re cheap). You are best served obviously by getting the Adobe products Photoshop and Illustrator, but let’s face it, those are expensive. Then again, they’re expensive for a reason, they’re the industry standards, and they work fantastically!

Let’s face it, we’re slammed!!! (but it’s a good thing!)

Changes, & News for DS4 Design

DS4 Design has been dark for a while, and you may be thinking,, why?!

Only we know (but don’t worry, we’ve got a good reason).

A number of new products are on the way. How many new products you say?

Well, would you believe Six!

Here’s the list that’s coming: Ponoko 3, Golf 1, Auto Racing 2.

Now I can’t share just yet (as they’re not completely done), but this should whet your appetite (and there are another 10 in the pipeline!)

Also we still have StickerTweets available and we’re rolling out new designs as we speak. The new Fresno State and Cal State Northridge StickerTweets are ready to go! Check out the new looks!!

All you Bulldog and Matador fans can get in on these now!

In terms of “Friends of DS4 Design” a lot has gone on, with current and soon to be announcements.

I’ve used Palm Pilots since 1997, what technologies have you used for a long time?

Even with the ridiculous double entendres, I’ve been a palm pilot user since the original Palm Professional back in 1997.
With the advent of the new PRE I’m very excited again for the prospects of the company and the WEBOS they’ve created. IT really looks well worth the wait.

I am a little bummed, that there’s pretty much no way I can get one for a year or two, (total bummer).

The new PRE looks amazing, I’ve seen a few reviews early, and if it’s what I think it is,, well,, just plain wow!

Keep it up Palm!

Yes, seriously, these are all mine (and I don’t have the original Palm Professional (I gave it to my mom years ago).
